As an artist, I have dedicated many years to working with watercolors and various other media, but recently, my passion has shifted toward scratchboard, which has quickly become one of my favorite mediums. I am drawn to the dramatic contrast of black and white and the intricate details it allows me to achieve. Occasionally, I enhance my pieces with specially formulated colored scratchboard inks. I would describe my art style as realistic, focusing on subjects such as landscapes, florals, still lifes, and commissioned portraits of both people and animals.
Having spent my entire life in the Pacific Northwest (I was born in Seattle), I strive to capture the stunning scenery of my surroundings in my landscapes. Additionally, I often feature animals in my scratchboard works, along with still lifes, florals, and other subjects that pique my interest. My art has received several awards and has been showcased in various gallery exhibitions over the years. I also have pieces featured in art magazines and a book dedicated to acrylic art.

For many years, I served as an illustrator and graphic designer on the art staff of different companies. Most recently, I spent seven years as a senior concept designer for Funko, a collectible toy company based in Everett, until I faced a layoff in 2020 due to Covid-19. Currently, I work part-time as a school bus driver for the Mukilteo School District. I reside in Everett, WA, where I seize every opportunity to create art. I am happily married to my wonderful wife and best friend, Rita, and we share our home with our beloved black cat, Mr. Boo.
